Long Island Folk Festival Performance – August 6th 2011, 2pm

Jeffrey is performing on Saturday, August 6th at the Sixth Annual Huntington Folk Festival. The free event, at Heckscher Park, Main Street (Route 25A) and Prime Avenue, in Huntington, extends from 11 a.m. into the late evening. JPB will be performing from 2pm-3pm in a song swap called “All Keyed Up” (yup, all keyboard players) hosted by AcousticMusicScene.com / Michael Kornfeld. Joining him are the lovely and talented Anna Dagmar and Marci Geller.

I’m excited to let all of you know that I just WON the Cyber Holiday Song Contest. The contest asked songwriters to take a holiday song and wrote original lyrics to it about Ariel Publicity, Cyber Pr and online marketing. If you don’t know, Cyber Pr is one of the top online marketing companies for singers and songwriters. I’m very happy and honored to be the WINNER!

Health and Hope for Haiti – JPB Vlog

Well, it’s beginning to feel a lot like…Winter here in New York City. And I’m feeling a little under the weather. “Pobrecito,” as my high school Spanish teacher used to say. But I’m not too sick to move forward with a holiday song for you. It will be online soon. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and ideas!

I hope all of my “mishpucha” had a very Happy Chanukah. Around the holidays, I always make sure to be thankful for what I have. This is more true this year than ever. My friend Andy was recently volunteering in Haiti, which, as you may know, was devastated by an earthquake last January and is currently under seige from cholera and disease. After returning from Haiti, Andy told me: “We live in a paradise.”

This week’s video is a “vlog” (Video Log, like a blog but with video instead of words, for the uninitiated) from the fall, directly related to this thought. I went to Miami as a volunteer to sort clothing, food and medicine for Angel Wings International, a non profit sending medical relief to Haiti. I was asked to perform in front of all the other volunteers, especially since i wrote the jingle for the organization. Part of this performance can be viewed in the video, in which I perform REM’s “Everybody Hurts.”

Jeffrey will be attending the NERFA Music Conference for the 4th time this weekend. The event will be held at the Hudson Valley Resort, 400 Granite Road, Kerhonkson, NY. He is “Looking forward to giving and receiving lots of love and great music!” Jeffrey has been selected to perform in three “Guerrilla Showcase” performance slots at NERFA.
